With hearts full of cherished memories, we remember the remarkable life of Deborah (Debbie) May Flook, who was welcomed home to the heavenly kingdom with trumpets sounding on August 6, 2024, in Tampa, FL. Born on February 1, 1962, in Brooksville, FL.
Deborah's life was a radiant testament to faith, love, and wholehearted joy. A beloved daughter of Herb and Margaret Flook, who have preceded her in death, Deborah lived her life full of vibrancy and grace. She attended LYF Inc. in Lutz, FL, a school environment where she loved learning and the having the boundless opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. Deborah's heart was as big as her smile, which could light up any room. She was dedicated to serving as the hands and feet for Jesus, living each day with the purpose of sharing His love and light. Her favorite color was pink, loved dressing up like a princess, talking on her many phones, and celebrating her watch collection. Deborah wasn’t defined by titles or achievements, but by the profound impact she had on the people around her. She loved the Lord deeply and passionately and desired everyone to experience His love. Her commitment was most strongly felt in school at LYF Inc. and at church with the special needs ministry at Idlewild Baptist Church, a place where she found joy. Her life was filled with activities that brought child-like innocence and wonder not just to her, but to those she encountered. Whether she was singing, dancing, swimming, or playing ball with the family dog Hank Aaron, Deborah seized every opportunity to celebrate life's blessings. Karaoke nights were a special favorite where her genuine personality and love for music were evident in every heartfelt note she sang. She loved LYF Springs Camp and the ability to assist Mr. Jim in the kitchen. Deborah’s love extended deeply into her family. She is survived by her sister Stephanie Walls and brother-in-law Mike Walls, her brother Steve Flook and sister-in-law Marilee Flook. She also leaves behind nephews Dalton and Remington Walls, Stephen Jr. and Samuel Flook, and nieces Sarah Cox, Hannah, Mary Margaret, and Elizabeth Flook. Deborah also cherished her great-niece Rosalyn Flook and great-nephews Stephen III and Jeremiah Flook, and her uncles Danny and Joe King. She loved her extended family, cousins and friends. All who knew Deborah were touched by her exuberance for life, kindness and overwhelming love. She loved wholeheartedly, never met a stranger, and delivered the most comforting hugs one could imagine. Her presence brought an irreplaceable warmth of sunshine to all she met and left a lasting impression wherever she went!
A celebration of Deborah's life will be held Wednesday, August 14th at 10 a.m. at Idlewild Baptist Church, 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd., Lutz, FL 33548. Doors will open at 9:15. In honor of her life and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to LYF Inc., Lutz, FL or the Idlewild Baptist Church Special Needs Ministry to keep Debbie’s love for learning and love for Jesus in the forefront for others to experience.
Deborah May Flook’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, boundless love, and joyful spirit. She leaves behind a trail of beautiful memories and an inspiring example of wholehearted devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ and to others. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit of love will remain in our hearts forever.
