Del Damian Phillips

September 21st, 1966 - August 12th, 2024

With heavy heart, we announce the passing of Del Phillips, who left us on August 12, 2024, at age 57, in the city where he was born and loved—San Diego.

Del was widely admired for his unwavering honesty, integrity, and loyalty. Over a distinguished 25-year career in real estate, he became a trusted figure, earning the respect of clients and colleagues, consistently placing him among the top-producing agents in his company. His excellence in the field was recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious title of "Metro Agent of the Year," a testament to his professionalism and tireless work ethic.

Del was cherished for his infectious optimism and kind spirit. He was the kind of person who never let anything ruffle his feathers—always smiling, always seeing the best in everyone and everything. Del’s generosity and selflessness were known to all who met him; he was the first to offer help and the last to expect anything in return. His decades-long friendships were a testament to the genuine warmth and charm he extended to everyone, whether they were lifelong friends or new acquaintances.

Del took delight in life's small indulgences, and he was rarely seen without his signature Trenta Green Tea Lemonade in hand—his day began and ended with a visit to a Starbucks. His love for holidays and celebrations was well known—his birthday in September was often a month-long affair, and he was the master planner behind countless dinners, trips, concerts, and events.

Del's legacy is one of professional excellence and personal kindness. His influence extends far beyond the real estate industry, touching the lives of countless individuals who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be forever remembered for his warmth, generosity, and profound impact on those around him.

Del is survived by his loving mother, Helene Phillips; his aunts and uncles, Carl Gilman (Linda), Mary Reed, Bill Gilman, and Joan Paquette; and his cousins: John Reed, Todd Reed (Ahima), Elizabeth Reed, Daniel Tixier, Mary Tixier, Dillion Reed, Alex Reed, and Lucas Reed. He also leaves behind a vast network of friends and colleagues who adored him.

A celebration of Del’s life is planned for Sunday, October 20. Once the details are finalized, they will be announced on Del’s Facebook page.
