Delbert "Del" Clyde Douty
March 26th, 1943 - November 24th, 2023
Delbert was born on March 26, 1943, to Lauren and Gertrude Douty in Boise, Idaho. Delbert lived in Star, ID, until 1949, when he moved to Greenleaf with his family where he lived until his death on November 24, 2023. Delbert graduated high school in 1961 from Greenleaf Friends Academy. After high school, Del worked for Maggord Ranch until 1967, then worked for the Canyon County Sheriffs Department. Delbert married Mary Louise Kunz on May 8, 1969. Robert Douty came as a bonus to his marriage to Mary and they had twin daughters, Christine and Kathy. Delbert drove truck for Kit Trailers, then leased the Chevron station in Wilder for two years. Delbert then drove truck for Ida Cal for two years. Mary and Delbert divorced in 1987. Delbert met LaBerta Ratliff, and they spent many happy years together, marrying on January 31, 2003. They enjoyed life together, joked , laughed, and had many adventures. Delbert spent 31 years driving truck for J.R. Simplot Company. While married to LaBerta, Delbert gained another son, Will Ratliff, and a daughter, Pauline Goff. Delbert had a special place in his heart for both of them. Delbert never knew a stranger, he loved to socialize and be with people. He had a great wit and sense of humor. Delbert enjoyed dredging for gold and he and LaBerta had summer adventures taking all their grandkids for a week every year. Delbert lost LaBerta on September 16, 2016, but kept his humor and is now with her again.

Today, we continue their mission of providing the finest quality services to all families of the Treasure Valley. Many changes have taken place over the years, including the addition of the Homedale Chapel in 1964. In 1984, Flahiff Chapels expanded its facility with the addition of Canyon and Owyhee County’s first crematory....
