Deloise McPherson
November 5th, 1940 - December 28th, 2022
Deloise “Dee” McPherson, 82, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in Lexington, KY. She was born in Quality, KY on November 5, 1940 to the late Elmer and Ruby McPherson. She was loved and remembered by everyone who met her. The embodiment of all those positive descriptions we give people - warm, kind, caring, loving, strong…. She tried to feed anyone who came into her sphere. For her, food showed love and caring. Dee had the work ethic often spoken of about her generation. She raised her three children primarily by herself. She worked her full time job, cleaned house, made home repairs, landscaped, gardened, and still cooked a full meal every night, dessert included. Her daughters feel she was the best mom ever, there to help in any way. They truly knew she loved them. She carried that love forward to her son-in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dee was there to love, comfort, and, of course, feed them. She loved babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dee is survived by three daughters, Debra (Dan) Justus, Connie (Tim) Underwood, and Angela Rose; one brother, Douglas (Carlene) McPherson; three sisters, Norma Kirby, Diann Gibbs (Robert), and Janice McPherson; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Joanie) Mims, Samuel Mims, Daniel (Taylour) Mims, Jessica (Andrew) Downey, Jennifer (Kyle) Peel, Kellie Corey, Michael Corey, and “Woody” Sarah Underwood; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Darrell McPherson, and his wife, Claudine. A memorial celebration for Deloise will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2023 from 2pm-5pm at Cornerstone Baptist Church,1465 Keene Rd Nicholasville, KY. Inurnment will take place January 7, 2021 at 2pm Central Time at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Porter Road (Cr-1701) Lewisburg, KY 42256. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Deloise's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
