Delores Latherow
July 20th, 1929 - March 25th, 2014
Cocoa Beach- Delores (Dee) S. Latherow, 84, Cocoa Beach resident for 50 years, died quietly Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in her son’s home. Delores was born in Athens, Georgia on July 20, 1929. She married John (Jack) A Latherow and they remained married for 52 years until his death in 1997. Delores lived in many places in the United States and had fairy tale life living, loving, and traveling the world. Delores and Jack loved to Motorhome travel across the United States including Alaska. They always included their grandchildren in the travels. Delores was a University of Central Florida graduate and a retired elementary teacher of St. Mary’s Catholic School in Rockledge, Florida. She was an active member of Church of Our Saviors until developing health issues. Delores will be missed and will remain in the hearts of her friends and family. Other survivors include her two sons Charles A. Latherow and John D. Latherow of Cocoa Beach, and daughter-in-law Valerie. She also had four grandchildren Andy, Chris, Michelle, and Tommy and four great-grand children, Lauren, Jena, Luke, and Kailin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of Our Saviors at 1:00 p.m. Friday with burial at Florida National Cemetery next to her beloved husband. Donation may be made to VITAS Hospice Care.
