Denise Fortman
May 9th, 1939 - March 7th, 2024
Denise Fortman, 84, of Lakewood, CO passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024. Denise grew up in East Hampton, NY. A small town she loved and had many fond memories with her brother Jim. Denise loved the ocean and spent wonderful days at Main Beach and Georgica Pond. Denise cherished all animals. She worked in various careers including owning a flower shop with her husband Rollie. Denise was extremely creative and artistic. She enjoyed expressing her creativity through flower arrangements, drawing birthday cards, and painting beautiful animals and scenery on sweatshirts. Denise was also a gifted creative writer and even had a few pieces published in a local newspaper. Denise felt honored to serve as a Prayer Practitioner at Mile Hi Church for many years. Denise will be dearly missed, loved, and always remembered.
Denise is survived by her loving husband Rollie, brother Jim (Carole), daughters Julie, Dawn (fiancé Steve), son Bradley (Brenda), step-children Jennifer (Norm), Meredith (Ed), Doug (Allie), nieces Tracy (Mike, children Cameron, Ben), Marilyn (Jaime, children Raquel, Alex) grandchildren Eric (Kat), Kaleb, Lisa, Lennon, Skylar, Mackenzie, step grandchildren Corey (Vanessa), Josh (Taylor), Austin (Shay), Shane (Alison), Jordan (Shane) Lucy, Nate, step-great-grandchildren, Brynley, Lincoln, and Barrett. Rollie and the family have not decided about Denise’s celebration of life as of yet. Denise requested in lieu of flowers please consider a donation in her name to Mile Hi Church, The Colorado Greyhound Association, The Jane Goodall Institute, or the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
