Denise Rae Williams

Denise Rae Williams, 58, devoted mother, loving wife, and rock of faith went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2020. Denise loved many types of books and loved reading. She enjoyed serving as the church librarian at West Mesa Christian Church in Albuquerque and as a library volunteer at Mountain View Middle School in Rio Rancho. Denise also enjoyed and very much loved being a part of her son's lives. While Denise was born on May 9,1962 at Fort Gordon, GA, she spent her childhood in the communities of Los Alamos and White Rock, NM. Denise was a 1980 graduate of Los Alamos High School. She played saxophone in the marching bands at LAHS and UNM. She was very involved in church activities as a high school and college student. While in college, Denise met and married Howard Williams, Jr of Albuquerque. They were blessed by 37 years of marriage. Together they reared two sons, Howard Robert Williams and Paul Timothy Williams. Denise was deeply committed to her sons and to her role as a mother. Denise's boys were the proudest accomplishment of her life. Denise was a member of West Mesa Christian Church, where she was revered for her compassion, her concern for children, and her indomitable faith in the face of fifteen years of surgeries, infections and treatments for cancer. Denise is survived by her husband, Howard of Rio Rancho, NM; her sons Howard Robert Williams and Paul Timothy Williams; her father Raymond L. Elliott; her brothers, John Elliott, William A. Elliott, and a myriad of out of state relatives. A memorial service for Denise is scheduled for West Mesa Christian Church (8821 Golf Course Rd NW, Albuquerque) at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2020. Masks are required, and social distancing will be followed. The service will be live-streamed on the West Mesa Christian Church Facebook page.
