Online Obituaries for Frankfort, KY Dennis Bochantin, age 60, passed away suddenly on June 22, 2017 in Frankfort, KY. He was born in St. Louis and grew up in southern Illinois before joining the U.S. Army in 1975. He was stationed in South Korea as a linguistics specialist for seven years. He returned to the U.S. and completed his degree in 1984, graduating magna cum laude from University of Maryland. After becoming a Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Special Agent in 1985, his long, successful career sent him around the world with Physical Security, Mobile Security Division, Protective Intelligence and Investigations, and Regional Security Officer (RSO) Training. His RSO stints included Seoul (1988-90), Accra (1990-1992), and Prague (1999-2002). Upon retirement in 2008, Dennis and his family relocated to central Kentucky, whereupon he set out to attain his lifetime goal of personally designing and building his dream home on a small farm in Frankfort. He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Sheri Mestan Bochantin, loving daughters Kerri Anna (21) and Taylor Susan (19); parents Oley and Evelyn Zelasko Bochantin, of DuBois; Illinois, brothers Curtis (Monica), Rick (Jeannette), Oliver, Mark (Missy), Patrick, Jerome (Felicia), and Ron (Tanya), and sisters Carla, Rhonda (Kevin McClain), Mari (Chuck Smith), Annette (Jeff Higgins), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by younger brother, Robert. Funeral Information Funeral plans have been set for Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Frankfort. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and Mass at 2:30 p.m.
