Dennis Ray Hadley
October 9th, 1946 - August 27th, 2016
Dennis was born October 9, 1946 in Renton, WA and passed away August 27, 2016 in University Place, WA at Franciscan Hospice House from heart disease. Dennis graduated from Auburn High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from Western Washington University. His career began in hotel and restaurant management working at Sudden Valley Country Club as the food and beverage manager, Saga Corporation as senior food service director, restaurant manager at Black Angus, and department manager at Westin Hotels and Red Lion Hotels. Most of his career was selling cash registers and computers systems for restaurants and retail co-owning and leading Tacoma Cash Register, Merchants Systems and Enterprise Information Solutions. In retirement he was a member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church and actively involved in the Back-up Buddies mentoring program, Men’s Ministry, and Divorce Care. Dennis loved boating in the San Juan and Gulf Islands. He was a certified SCUBA diver, he enjoyed local theater, and was a lifelong member of the YMCA. He toured around the United States and traveled internationally to Europe, Mexico, Bermuda, and Japan. The highlight of his adventures was to the Holy Land with his church community. Dennis is survived by his daughter Lauren Hadley, her husband Tim Hambridge and Grandson Casey Hambridge. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Del and Jeanette Hadley and his brother Stanley. Services will be held at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church 7700 Skansie Ave., Gig Harbor, WA on September 18, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Donations can be made to YMCA Camp Seymour or Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church Back-up Buddies Program.
