Dennis Franklin Mercer, born on May 17, 1942, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on September 11, 2024, at the age of 82.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose family meant everything to him.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Theresia, and his daughters Linda [Johnny] Bigger and Susan [David] Kozora. He was a proud grandfather to Amanda Wilmoth, Jennifer [Jayce] Wahi, Stephanie [Sam] Walker, Johnny [Nicole] Bigger, Kelsi [Xavier] Perez, Jenny [Ryan] McManus, Nadine [Carlos] Garcia, and Madison [Chase] Crawford. His legacy also extends to his cherished great-grandchildren: Trace, Arianna, Bianca, Savannah, Analyse, Isabella, Lacie, Brooke, Avianna, Kensley, Emma, Hollie, Braxton, Angelie, Kiona, Adalynn, Carlos, Annistyn, Elijah, Eliana, Ashton, Quinn, and Eden.

He has been reunited with his son, Donald Mercer, and his parents, Benjamin and Pauline Mercer, in heaven.

Dennis served his country with honor as an Army veteran and was a proud member of the Masons. He spent his career as a boilermaker, from which he retired, and was known for his incredible skill and work ethic. Outside of work, Dennis pursued hobbies that reflected his love of building and creating. He had a passion for flying planes, welding, and constructing things with his hands. He had the best sense of humor and everyone who knew him knows he valued character and integrity above all.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at noon at Fivay Greenfield Cemetery on Kent Grove Dr. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at Susan’s house for a time of fellowship and remembrance.

Flowers may be sent to Loyless Funeral Home in Land O’ Lakes.

Dennis will be painfully missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
