Dennis G. Quillen

Dennis G. Quillen, Sr. age 68, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport. He was a US Navy Veteran having proudly served his country during the Vietnam War on the USS Rehoboth. Dennis was an avid musician loving country music and played with several bands in the Navy and the local community. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with his children. Most of all Dennis loved his family, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Quillen; and parents, Albert and Myrtle Quillen. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Hill Quillen; 2 daughters, DeAnna Bowen and husband, Mike, and Melissa Adkins and husband, Bobby; 5 sons, Brian Quillen, Brad Quillen and wife, Angie, Dennis Quillen, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Johnny Crawford and wife, Crystal, and Billy Crawford and wife, Angie; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Helen Harrison and Lucretia Fletcher and husband, Al; 2 brothers, James H. Quillen and Charles Quillen; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating. Military graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery in Fall Branch with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 presiding.
