Dennis "Denny" Ryan Wheeler
February 4th, 1949 - June 8th, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dennis Ryan Wheeler, affectionately known as Denny, who departed this life on June 8, 2024, in St. Petersburg, FL. Denny was born on February 4, 1949, in St. Petersburg, FL, a city that he cherished and called home throughout his life.
Denny leaves behind his beloved wife, Tammy Wheeler, his adored daughter, Courtney Wheeler, his supportive son-in-law, Nicholas Thomas, his loving niece, Colleen Kubicki, as well as his sister-in-law, Diane King, and brother-in-law, Bobby King. His family, friends, and community mourn his loss deeply.
An industrious and dedicated individual, Denny graduated from Bishop Barry High School, now known as St. Petersburg Catholic High School, and furthered his education at St. Petersburg Junior College. He cultivated a successful career, culminating in his retirement from BrightHouse Networks in 2013 as a Direct Sales Senior Manager. Prior to this, Denny spent a decade in the music business, where his passion for rock and roll led him to place bands in clubs along the eastern seaboard. This speaks to his love for music, a constant companion throughout his life.
Denny was a man who valued community and fellowship. He enjoyed membership in the Loyal Order of Moose and was an active participant at Incarnation Catholic Church. His joy for life was evident in his enjoyment of music and his love for socializing with friends and family.
The family invites all who knew Denny to join them in celebrating his life. A visitation will be held at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Street North, St. Petersburg, FL, on Thursday, June 13th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will follow immediately at 12:00 pm. In honoring Denny’s spirited personality, the family requests that guests wear their best "Life is Good" shirt, shorts, and flip-flops.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Denny’s honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Your donations will help continue the work that aligns with Denny’s giving nature and support of noble causes.
Dennis Ryan Wheeler will be remembered for his loving nature, his contributions to his community, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. May he rest in eternal peace.
