On Sunday, August 18th 2019, Sergeant Derek J. Diesel, a loving husband, son and father passed away unexpectedly at the age of 25. Derek was born on July 15th 1994 in Manhassett, New York to Keith and Marion Diesel. He attended VMI and pledged his service to the Marine Corps in 2014. He was dedicated to the Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was married to Kara Diesel and had a 2 year old daughter, Emilia Diesel. Derek was a hardworking, passionate leader both at home and throughout his service in the Marine Corps. He loved his family, friends, and country. His hobbies included spending time with his wife and daughter, working on their house, cars and motorcycles. He was also a member of Rival MC and enjoyed riding with his brothers in the club. Derek is survived by his wife Kara, daughter Emilia, his mother and father in law Pam and Kenny, his mother and father Marion and Keith, his brother Louis, and two sisters Victoria and Alexandra.
