October 16th, 1954 - June 7th, 2015
Derek P. Kiely, age 60, of Cape Coral, passed away June 7, 2015 in Cape Coral. He was born Oct. 16, 1954 in Dublin, Ireland, to the late Patrick M. and Nancy (Kavnaugh) Kiely. He is survived by his loving wife: Dawn (Zakens) Kiely, two sons: Jimmy Ray, Patrick Kiely and two daughters: Bridget Foerster (Brian), Tara Kiely, mother: Nancy Kiely, two brothers: Brian Kiely (Marie), Sean Kiely (Stephany), grandchildren, Emily Foerster, Brian Foerster, Lauren Foerster, Samantha Ray and niece, Aislyn Kiely. He was preceded in death by his father Patrick M. Kiely. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 9:00 am at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Fort Myers with Father David L. Arle officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 06:30 - 07:30 pm at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 13031 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33905. Derek was a long-time member and employee of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Boston sports fan, and relished particularly in the great success of the Patriots and Red Sox in recent years, especially the long-awaited World Series win in 2004. Go Sox!
