On Friday October 28th, 2016 Dewayne Thompson passed away after fighting a sudden onset liver disease. He was born in Gladwin, MI and graduated from Michigan Technological University He then moved to Arlington, VA taking a position in the Federal Government as an Electronic Engineer at Department Of Navy until retirement He is survived by sisters Dorothy and Margaret; Karen Mullen companion for 18 years, Sons Michael, Steven and Dennis and granddaughter Shannon He enjoyed playing golf and photography, but his real passion was playing music. He joined the Capital Area Bluegrass an Old-time Music Assoc. ( CABOMA) around 1977 and has played in this and other groups since then. He was always ready to help. He was a kind soul and will be truly missed. A celebration of Dewayne Thompson’s life and his love of music will take place at the CABOMA jam, Sunday, November 13, at 2:00 pm at Lyon Park Community Center; N. Filmore St. in Arlington. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations in Dewayne’s memory be made to CABOMA, 10304 Ten-Ten Road, Raleigh, NC 27603. Online condolences can be made at www.adventfuneral.com
