Mrs. Diane Sue Bacon, age 70 a resident of Lakeland passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Bacon was born April 12, 1952 in Danville, Illinois to Ewell Jude and Marcella (Pierson) Howard. She was a resident of Polk County since 1968 coming from Danville and a homemaker. Diane enjoyed quilting, sewing, collecting items, shopping, gardening and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Richard Bacon (2020) and 3 brothers. Diane is survived by her loving family, 2 sons – Troy Dean (Sharon) Bacon of Lakeland and Gregory Alan Bacon of Winter Haven; daughter – Sabrina Marie (Robert) Tarvin of Bent Mountain, VA.; 3 sisters – Mary Eberly, Jane Cook & Pam Young all of Danville, IL.; 2 brothers – Butch Howard of Danville, IL. and Dale Howard of Westville, IL.; 6 grandchildren – Tyler, Emily, Ashlyn, Robby, Ryan & Raiden and 5 gt grandchildren – Liam, Caleb, Bradley, Alouris & Kyle. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, June 3rd at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
