Diane Carole Johannsen Beres 74, of Melbourne, died Wednesday July 3, 2019. She was born in the Bronx, New York on March 16, 1945. She and her family relocated to Brevard in 1976 where she and her loving husband, Albert "Bock" Beres, raised three children. Over the years, her family grew to include ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of which still reside in Brevard County. Diane was a regular volunteer, helping elementary school teachers, reading to children, and helped feed the hungry at the Daily Bread Mission in downtown Melbourne. She also spent her time playing with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed bringing them to the movies, swimming, and teaching them how to play poker. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. When not with her family or giving back to the community, she enjoyed visiting with friends, going to lunch and playing bingo. Recent medical issues made life more difficult for Diane, but she never let that slow her down. Just weeks before her passing, she completed another one of her annual summer vacations with her family, a tradition her and her husband began over 20 years ago with their first grandchildren. Her latest adventure saw her squeeze her three children, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren (and a friend) into a two-bedroom timeshare in Sanibel Island. Cramped? Of course. Fun? Absolutely! She played Jenga, cards, swam, lounged on the beach, and watched her children and grandchildren play. Diane is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Beres Latham (Adam), Kelly Beres Sloboda (Derek); son Michael Beres (Yoest); grandchildren, Justin (Kim), Maggie, Maddie, Jaime, Abbey, Allen, Dylan, Luci, Tanner, Elias Bock; and two great granddaughters, Isabella, and Julia. She was preceded in death by her husband Bock; father Ernest, mother Margie, and sister Dottie. Visitation will be held from 5-7 Thursday July 11 at Beach Funeral Home, 1689 S. Patrick Dr. in Indian Harbour Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday July 12th, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial will follow immediately at the Florida Memorial Gardens. After the funeral there will be a Celebration of Life at the Springs of Suntree Community Center at 8300 Holiday Springs Road in Melbourne.
