“Born February 4th, 1937, Diane Rose Tenglin grew up in Burlington Iowa with her mother Mildred, her father Gunnar and brother Gene. She learned to read early and loved reading and writing from a very young age. Diane attended Southeast Iowa Community College and spent her summers writing ad copy for the local radio station in Burlington. She graduated with a teaching degree from the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught junior high school English in Cedar Falls and Keokuk Iowa. August 21st, 1959, Diane married Wilfred L.
