Dianne Marie (Walsh) Diestler, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully in her home with family members by her side on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She was born February 14, 1943, to Charles Emery and Julia Ethel (Olson) Walsh in Park Rapids, MN. She grew up there and attended the local country school. She attended Park Rapids High School where she graduated in 1961. She married her high school sweetheart Roger William Diestler June 8, 1963 in Park Rapids. They built their life together in the Highland Park area of St. Paul. She was a stay at home mom for many years while raising her four children and running an in-home daycare. Later, she entered the workforce working part-time for various entities, mainly doing their bookkeeping. Farmers Insurance hired her where she worked for many years prior to retirement. She was an active member in the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church community, where you would often find her in the kitchen. She spent countless hours volunteering for her community through St. Luke’s. She is survived by her husband; children, Shereen Evans of St. Paul, MN, Todd (Michelle) Diestler of Marion, IA, Kelly (John) Roberto of Roseville, MN, and Scott (Andrea) Diestler, Pittsboro, NC; grandchildren, Robert Evans, John Roberto, Morgan Diestler, Ben Diestler, and Joseph Roberto; her sister Opal Myhres of Yakima, WA and her brother Dean Walsh of Park Rapids, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Vernon, Harold, Donald and Richard; and sister Doris. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1807 Field Avenue, St. Paul, MN. A luncheon and celebration of her life will follow.
