September 10th, 1954 - August 26th, 2024

Dianne Probert (Dianne Soderburg)

Amy Dianne Probert, known to many as Dianne Soderburg, passed away on August 26th at the age of 69, with her two children by her side.

Born in 1954 to Betty Faye Garner and Jerry Earl Soderburg in Grangeville, ID, Dianne was a 4th generation Idahoan. She spent her formative years in Sweet, Ola, and Emmett, Idaho. At the age of 10, she and her two sisters moved to Grangeville to live with their father Jerry and stepmother Lee Audra. Dianne often shared stories of farm life with her parents, grandparents and siblings, proudly recalling how she could buck a hay bale with one arm.

After graduating from Grangeville High School in 1972, she moved to Boise and attended Links Business School. It was in Boise that she met Randal Lloyd Probert, and they married in January 1974. The couple later moved to the Salt Lake City area, where they welcomed their son Scott in 1978 and daughter Amy in 1982. Dianne cherished her role as a stay-at-home mom to her two children. Every kid in the neighborhood wanted to participate in the fun the Probert kids were having.

Following her divorce from Randy in 1984, Dianne returned to Boise with her children. She made a good life for herself and her two kids as a single parent. The three of them had many adventures, from skiing every weekend at Bogus Basin in the winter to camping and fishing trips, and exploring the Pacific Northwest in the summertime.

Dianne worked hard as an accountant for 13 years for a local non-profit before embarking on a new adventure as a real estate agent and small business owner conducting field inspections. She had a deep passion for real estate and continued her business through semi-retirement.

Dianne was known for her generous spirit and love for camping and water activities. She was a strong, independent lady with a tender heart. She accomplished whatever she set her mind to.

Dianne is survived by her children, Scott Probert of Idaho Falls, ID and Amy Probert of Boise, ID; Sisters Linda (Laird) Merkley of Grangeville, ID and Kathy (Shawn) Bowman of Asotin, WA; Half-siblings, Jerrie Lee Soderburg of Duluth, MN, Bobby (Brenda) McGowan and Lorrie Young of Lebanon, OR; Step-siblings, Karl (Monica) Musick, Jerry (Lynn) Musick of Boise, ID, Sherrie (Brian) Backlin of Meridian, ID and Rick (Nita) Musick of Grangeville, ID.

Her services will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 2 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 9855 W. Amity Road, Boise, ID 83709. All who knew and loved Dianne are welcome to attend.

Cards can be sent in care of Amy Probert, 2807 W Woodlawn Avenue, Boise, ID 83702.

Aunt Dianne was a loving, gentle, yet sassy cookie. She will be missed greatly by her friends and her family. To my cousins Scott and Amy , just know she is not in pain and has all the energy that she could ever need now. I am thankful you had time together before she left. Stay strong and may you feel the love surrounding you during this painful time. Dianne was a fun, loving and tough cookie. A wonderful sister and a stern boss. Of course we shared our love for Jehovah. There was no doubt of that but we also shared the love of laughter. Her and I had an equally funny view of things. It was like we were twins in funny! We laughed hard together and I really cherish that. We continued that laughter 4 days before she died and I will remind her of that when I see her again. I know she is in Jehovahs memory and that’s a good thing, because I don’t trust my memory, my dear friend. Until we meet again ❤️

Tracy Probert

I remember Dianne as a fun, kind and loving mother. The most I ever saw of my father Randy was while he was married to Dianne. I figure she was the one that made sure he was involved in my life. That is just the kind of good person that she was. Anytime I visited, she treated me with nothing by love. I was very shocked and saddened to hear that she passed at just 69. Way too young in my opinion. I am so happy that she was a part of my life when I was a young boy. I can only imagine how tirelessly Dianne worked to support Scott and Amy. I wish Scott and Amy the best in all they do and my deepest condolences for the loss of their mother.
