Dolores M. Aldi

Dolores M. King Aldi, 82, of Perkins St., Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday evening May 15, 2012 at her home with her loving family at her side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 15, 1929 a daughter of the late Augustus and Anna M. Bloomquist King. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1948. Mrs. Aldi along with her husband owned and operated the former Isabel's Restaurant on West Main St. in Amsterdam for many years retiring in 1992. They also owned the former Aldi's T.V. and Appliances in Amsterdam. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Mrs. Aldi also was an active member of the Columbiette's of Knights of Columbus Council #209 serving as past president and several other offices. Dolores loved being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She married Michele T. Aldi Sr. on August 27, 1950. He passed away on May 4, 1991. Survivors include her two beloved sons, Michele T. Aldi Jr. and his Fiance Jennifer Rieken of Amsterdam and Thomas A. Aldi of Amsterdam. One brother, Earl C. King Judi of Northville, NY. One sister, Joan Saita Jack of Oregon. Four grandchildren, Shannon Austin Aldi-Hogan, Michele Serena Aldi III, Vanessa Manuel and Thomas Aldi. Three great grandchildren, Michele IV., Domenico and Gianna. Nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved breakfast buddy "Snoop". Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 17, 2012 at 1:00P.M.at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. presiding. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Truax Rd., Amsterdam, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday beginning at 12:00 Noon prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice c/o the funeral home office.
