CASHMAN DOLORES MAE CARNEY 85, longtime resident of Littleton, passed away Saturday evening, April 23rd, with her family at her bedside. She was a registered organ donor and made a donation. Born in Denver, she lived a short time at the Queen of Heaven orphanage, graduated from Holy Family High School, and completed training to become a registered nurse at the Seton School of Nursing in 1947, as a member of the U.S. Nurse Cadet Corps. She worked at Colorado General Hospital (later University Hospital) in Denver. She met the love of her life (Bill Cashman) on a blind date, and they married months later in September 1950. Dolores and Bill were married 59 1/2 years, until his death in March 2010. Dolores also lost two sisters in 2010: Betty Ann Gordon and Bernadine Carney. Survivors include siblings Frank Carney, Rosemary Calomino and Philip Carney; sons Bill Cashman (Corie, Jodi and Heather), Kurt Cashman (Theresa) (Jordan, Connor), and daughter Barbara (Steve Hahn) (Jeremy, Ted and Ben); seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Celebration of Life: Aspen Mortuary,1350 Simms St., Lakewood 10:00 a.m. Friday; reception following at American Legion Post 161. Private Inurnment at Ft. Logan. Donations: The Denver Hospice.
