Thomason Funeral Home
Dolores Jean Russell
September 5th, 1932 - December 3rd, 2023
Dolores (Dee) J. Russell, 91, of Weiser, ID, passed away in the early hours of December 3. She was born in Portland, OR on September 5, 1932 and raised there. Dee had numerous interests in life and lived it to the fullest. As a young adult, she played bass cello with Lawrence Welk while he was starting to gain notoriety by performing at dances and such. Being very talented and gifted, she was able to pick up any instrument and play, such as violin, piano, guitar and drums to name a few. In addition to being musically inclined, she was an excellent artist and had even sold some of her pieces. With a love for horses, she also raised race horses in Chino Valley, AZ and her horses won serveral times. Dee had a career in nursing in Las Vegas for many years. After retirement, Dee selflessly continued to aid terminally ill patients by providing in-home care. With the heart of an angel and contagious laughter with humor that will not be forgotten, she made quite an impression on everyone she ever met. At the time and as a resident of Las Vegas, Dee yearned for a small city, slower paced lifestyle and in 2006, alongside her daughter Jody and son-in-law Kevin Buckley, she moved to Weiser. Her love of wildlife and nature made Weiser the perfect place to live. She enjoyed camping, wildlife and fishing. One of her bigger bragging rights was catching a 19" trout out of Mann Creek Reservoir at 85 years old. She is preceded in death by her son, Randy Perdue and ex-husband and wonderful friend, David Perdue. She will be sorely missed by those who knew her. There will be no service or memorial. Her wish was for people to love and respect one another. May her wish come true.

We Entrusted Dolores Russell's Care To
Thomason Funeral Home
For more than 100 years, the Thomason Funeral Home has worked to help the Weiser community heal after loss. We help families plan funerals, cremation services, and celebration of life services. Our story began in 1910 when Lloyd Northam opened the doors at the site now occupied by the current Weiser Elk’s Lodge. Since then, the business has had several names, partnerships, and owners. Among them was Dale Thomason, our namesake, who began working at the funeral home in the mid-1940s and purchased the home as a family business to run with his son. At Thomason, we focus on helping your family with personalized care. We do everything we can to provide professional, compassionate support to every family that trusts us with their funeral arrangements. Along with our sister location in Ontario, Oregon, we help Treasure Valley families connect, honor, and remember their loved ones....
