Dominick Birch Jr., 87, of Amsterdam, NY passed away February 3rd, 2023, at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born in Amsterdam on May 11th, 1935, to the late Dominick Birch Sr. and Doris Bellows, Dominick spent most of his life in the area. After serving in the U.S Army he worked local jobs; such as Bonded Insulation in Hagaman, NY. Dominick was loved by his entire Capstone family and will be remembered as the most generous man who would give the shirt off his back to those who needed it. He always looked forward to playing cards with his late sister Grace every Saturday. He is survived by his brother Jim Birch; sister Delores Waight; 24 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Dominick and Doris Birch; sons Percy Birch and Dominic III; sisters Judy Birch and Grace Chichester; and brothers Daniel and Donald Birch. A service of remembrance will take place at 11AM on Wednesday February 15th, 2023, at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Family and friends are invited and may call the hour prior from 10AM to 11AM. Interment in St Michael's Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY will be announced later this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
