Dominick J. Chimento Dominick Jude Chimento, 82 of Port Charlotte died Tuesday, January 5, 2016. He was born on July 11, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Dominick and Philomena (Alia) Chimento. Dominick was the Valedictorian of Brooklyn Technical High School. He moved to Florida in 1976 from Long Island, NY. Mr. Chimento was a member of Gulf Cove United Methodist Church, and a master at putting together jig saw puzzles. He is survived by his wife: Janet; four sons: Christopher Chimento of Port Charlotte; Thomas Burkhart of Port Charlotte; John Burkhart of Long Island, NY; Donald Burkhart of North Port; one daughter: Lorelle Scott of North Port; a sister: Dolores Moschella of Melbourne; a brother: Richard Chimento of Las Vegas, NV; 15 grand children and 4 great grand children. A Memorial Service with inurnment will be held at Gulf Pines Memorial Park at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions in his name be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc. 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238.
