Donald Bishop

Donald Lewis Bishop Born 2-20-1960 Santa Monica CA Died 7-14-2019 Denver CO after a short illness Don was fascinated with planes from infancy. His parents would take him to the end of the runway at Los Angeles Airport and there he soon learned to identify each airlines’ planes. Don graduated from Canoga Park High School in California. After a stint in the army where he specialized in maintaining Huey helicopters, he trained at ITT to be an airplane mechanic. Though he never got to pilot a plane, he spent the rest of his life making sure that his planes flew safely, first, many years for Continental and more recently, United Airlines. Don was happiest being with his dogs. A whole series of huskies were lucky enough to have him for an owner. His other passions were riding his Harley, fishing, golfing and watching sports on TV, especially, the Denver Broncos. You wouldn’t want to be in the same room if his teams were losing. Don was preceded in death by his mother, LouRita Deitchler Bishop. He will be sorely missed by his father, LeRoy Bishop, his brother, William Bishop, many relatives and friends and his huskies, Misha, Ivan, and Galena.
