Donald Caffee Donald John Caffee of Eugene passed away April 28, 2015 at age 86. He was born Sept 14, 1928 in Wessington Springs, S.D. to Floyd and Kathryn (Goergen) Caffee. Don grew up on a farm, and after graduating high school, he was drafted into the Army. He served as a Sargent during the Korean War 1951-1953 and received the Bronze Star for his time on the front lines. Upon returning, Don married Marlene M. Bauer on Sept 26, 1953; the couple recently celebrated their 61st anniversary together. In July 1959, Don and Marlene packed up their lives and young children to move to Eugene, Ore. Don worked as a carpenter, construction supervisor, and self-employed contractor for the rest of his career. As member of St. Mark’s parish, Don volunteered for their Oktoberfest celebration and Buffalo BBQ. He also ushered, counted collection, assisted with funerals, and helped with regular building maintenance. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and always provided for his family. Survived by wife Marlene; children Mark Caffee, Nancy (Rob) Daiker, and Tom (Anita) Caffee; grandchildren Erica McGillivray, Jonathan McGillivray, Cameron McGillivray, Garrett Caffee, Travis Caffee, Nicole Caffee, and Trevor Caffee; and siblings Darlene Riesland, Lester Caffee, Roland Caffee, Verla Barber, and Lawrence Caffee. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Quail Park Memory Care for their love. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Mark Building Fund in Don’s name. A funeral mass will be held Sat, May 16 at 11am with a rosary at 10:30am at St. Mark, 1760 Echo Hollow Rd in Eugene. http://bit.ly/Caffee
