On Saturday, August 31, 2024, Don Cera, loving husband and father of Adam and Jennifer, passed away at age 84.

Don was born on July 24, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to Mario and Kathryn (Herts) Cera.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, PA in 1962. After graduation, Don served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years.  He is survived by Phyllis, his loving wife of 47 years.

Don was a star football player in high school and college, and also participated in wrestling and track.  Due to his entrepreneurial nature, Don and his partner David Sibila, founded and operated Energy Materials, Inc. in Denver, Colorado in the 1980's.  Because Don loved warm weather and golf, he and Phyllis moved to Florida in 1984, where Don owned a lawn maintenance and landscaping business in Boca Raton, Florida.  When he retired, Don became a substitue teacher in Palm Beach County.  In 2018, Don and Phyllis fully retired and moved to Tampa where they could fully enjoy their retirement with close friends and social activities.

Don is survived in addition to his wife, by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Jean Manning, their sons, Dan and Jim, Jim's wife Kelly, and their four children, Maddie, J.D, Will, and Drew.

Don has requested cremation and no service.

The family suggest that those who wish, may make memorial contributions to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
