Donald Dorsey
August 21st, 1930 - March 24th, 2010
Don Dorsey has "Gone Fishing" eternally on March 24, 2010 in Salinas, CA. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on August 21, 1930. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, JoAnn Dorsey and his three children, Cynthia Burke, Patrick Dorsey and Lori Hamlin. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Barbara Edge and Vicki Ahlf. Dorothea "Tia" Virze is his only remaining sister. Don had nine grandchildren, five great-grandhchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was a proud man and always worked hard to support his family. Besides his family, the second love of his life was fishing. At a later date, Don's ashes will be scattered at sea in Moss Landing, CA. Afterwards, friends are invited to celebrate his life at the Moss Landing Yacht Club. The family wishes to thank Don's loyal friends Bob Burton, Joan Truman, Wayne Kelly and Alicia Perez for all their support. In lieu of flowers, Don would want you to cook your favorite fish and have a beer.

We Entrusted Donald Dorsey's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
