Donald LeRoy Duke

Donald LeRoy Duke, 71, of Englewood passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at Tampa General Hospital. Born on June 27, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland he had been a resident of Charlotte County for fifteen years coming from Baltimore. A self employed general contractor for the greater portion of his life, Avondale Construction & Remodeling, Don retired in 2000. His passion was playing billiards and was a long time member of the APA as well as the BCA. He was a lung transplant recipient three years ago, and was living his life to the fullest! He was loved by many family and friends and will be missed by all. Survivors include three children: Donald M. Duke, Ginger L. Miller and Renae R. Nelson; two sisters: Rhonda DePietro and Susan Daniel; two brothers: John Michael Duke and Dennis Duke, and seven grand children whom he loved and cared for dearly, all of Baltimore, MD. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 3 PM until service time at 4 PM at the Englewood Community Funeral Home with Private Crematory, 3070 South McCall Road, Englewood 34224.
