Donald "Jake" Garber
July 10th, 1948 - October 8th, 2017
Donald M. "Jake" Garber, age 69, of Gloversville, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Gloversville. He was born July 10, 1948 in Gloversville, the son of Martin and Blanche King Garber. He retired from the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance in Albany, NY. Jake was a member of the Moose Lodge. He is survived by a brother, Richard Garber of Meco and a sister, Donna Fitzgibbon of Schenectady. He is also survived by dear friend and ex-wife, Judith L. Garber of Amsterdam and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jake was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Ronald Garber. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 3pm Wednesday, October 11 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Memorial Service will follow at 3pm with the Rev. Dr. RW Williams officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Montgomery County SPCA, P.O. Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
