Donald Harvey Glittenberg

Donald Harvey Glittenberg, 80, of Evans, CO passed away July 9, 2011 at his residence. He was born February 12, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI to Harvey and Clara Glittenberg. Don grew up in Milwaukee and attended schools there. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 1957 he was moved and stationed at Fort Carson until he was discharged. Don continued his education after his enlistment and went on to obtain his doctorate in education. He taught Biology at Lakewood High School in Lakewood, CO until he retired from the district. Upon retirement he went on to attend seminary at Concordia in St. Louis, MO and NE. Don loved horticulture, music, reading, history, and spending time with family and friends. He loved to learn and he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Don is survived by his wife, Joyce Glittenberg of Evans, CO; son, Paul (Betsy) Glittenberg; daughter, Janismarie (Kurt) Oberle; 16 grandchildren; and former wife, Joann Henriches. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church 3000 35th Avenue, Greeley, followed by a private family Interment.
