Donald R. Iannotti, 79, of State Hwy 30, Amsterdam, passed Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY with his loving family by his side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 6, 1934 a son of the late Ralph and Catherine Zepperi Iannotti. He attended Amsterdam schools and was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam. Don worked for over 25 years as a crane elevator repairman for the General Electric Company in Schenectady. He enjoyed working on cars in his spare time and traveling in his motor home with his wife. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. He married Patricia Paro Iannotti on September 5, 1954. In addition to his loving wife he is survive by his Four daughters, Noreen William Maszdzem of Reno, NV, Michele Willliam Merz of Caroga Lake, NY, Lisa Michael Kenyon of Tribes Hill, NY and Kelly Iannotti of Amsterdam. Eight cherished grandchildren, Tommy Thompkins, Chrissy Cervelo, Kelly Lisicki, Nicole Wallin, Heather Heaton, Ashley Heaton, Zachary Kenyon and William Billy Merz II. Five cherished great-grandchildren, Mason, Kale, Patrick, Isabella and Roman. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 9:15A.M. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, St. John St., Amsterdam with Father Pascal Iannotti as celebrant. Interment will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday January 20, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, State Hwy 5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
