I am a cancer patient.  I met Brenda while receiving a CAT scan and she was the technician .  While talking to her telling her of my cancer, she told me that she had cancer as well and that her treatments were no longer working and that it had spread.  Yet in spite of all that she faced she had the grace to care for me.   It touched me so, how she cared for me yet not having the hope cancer patients  hang onto.  Each time I had scans I would ask about her and how she was doing.  She had a good friend that worked together with her, and she would tell me how courageous she was and how hard she battled her cancer, never complaining.  I never saw or talked to her again, but I have never forgotten the grace Brenda showed me that day. I never knew her last name, until today when I went back for another CAT scan and I asked how she was doing.  I was so sorry to learn of her passing but am blessed to have met her, even that one time.   You never know who you will impress in your life so live it like Brenda did, as if everyone you meet needs a kind word or warm blanket. Tom,  cancer patient.

My husband was happiest with an espresso in hand, his cowboy hat on, a dog trailing behind him at the pond while camping or fishing, baiting lines for the kids or baking his mothers favorite cinnamon rolls or cooking up a mean green chili stew! I for one will miss him in the kitchen!

I loved my brother-in-law JB. For 40 years he treated me like a sister, kind, loving, generous, funny, amazing cook/baker, and fun to camp with. His stories were always entertaining. He always opened up his home to whomever wanted to visit. His love of animals was endless. He is going to be so missed. Love you always Jerry Brown. 

The surrogate puppy that LOVED dad!  Dexter was so happy to see dad every time he could!  Dexter absolutely understood the word “Pupa”

We met Jon through Alice.  He was wonderful and kind.  We were honored several years ago to have them visit us at our log house in the woods in Traverse City, Michigan.  We also shared a baseball game watching the Traverse City Beach Bums play at our minor league stadium.  Jon will be missed.  Our sympathy to Alice and the family.

We will miss you and always love you Jon! I could not have asked for a better man for my grandmother to have enjoyed her time with. Thank you for keeping her happy and showing her the true depths of unconditional love. Thank you for sharing your smile, your compassion, and gentle care with the world. You will be missed but you will always live on in our hearts.

We met Jon and Alice in 2017 when all of us had just settled into our new homes and as back door neighbors we got together to put up our shared wall.  Little did we know Jon and Alice would become more than neighbors.  They became dear friends. We think Jon and Alice found each other as they are alike -always helpful , kind, considerate as well as very interesting people who liked traveling,playing  cards  and just enjoying life! We are so blessed to have known Jon, we will miss him but we will always remember him.   Alice, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. 

Heaven became a bit more "heavenly" with the addition of Jon Hayden on his 71st birthday, 4/15/2024. Jon was a great guy, a stand up individual, and a trusted and dependable friend to many.  You could always count on Jon; his word was his bond. He had a positive impact, a calming influence, and I am a better person for having known him. He was a real role model, a man who always "did the right thing."  We enjoyed several adventures and a few misadventures in college; memories I will cherish always. Our loss is heaven's gain. 

  I too went to Eau Claire and roomed with and shared with Jon the high jinx that is dorm life. We both liked to play sheeps and we played it more than studies at times permitted.  Jon stuck it out and got his degree and got a job in the area but we soon went from the idyllic college life to the "real world" of raising babies and stacking pennies.  When immersed in that part of life its hard to see anything but that so when we split in early 1980's I just thought it one of many casualties that is collectively called becoming an adult.  I never guessed we wouldn't see each other anymore when we split in the early 1980's.  Never planned, as much of life  isn't.  
   So  it was a pleasant surprise when after a 25 year hiatus and the powers of the internet, he in Phoenix me in La Crosse we met for a weekend in Las Vegas for a weekend in 2002.  We have had several good get togethers  and have stayed in touch ever since.  It always fun to look forward to the next one.
  Until now.  I will miss you Jon. 

A heart full of love, prayers of comfort and strength to Jon's loved ones. May you rejoice in sweet memories shared with him.

I have known John and Alice’s few years. They picked me up every Wednesday for several years and we played cards every Wednesday afternoon. John was always fun ,,always a  joy to be with ,He was a kind and gentle man ,someone you felt like you had known for years. I know he will be missed by many people…that kind of man is hard to find in our world today So so glad I had the privilege of sharing all those Wednesday’  afternoons with he and sweet Alice (who is also a gem) Peggy Fowler

🕯️ Grandpa was a wonderful man. I remember him driving by in his log truck when we lived in Veneta waiting for the school bus. That was the highlight of the school day then. He was so loving and caring. I miss you grandpa.

I wish I had known him  better,  he will forever be in our hearts and memories.  May he rest in peace until we see him again. 
May the happy memories bring comfort  to his family.
