Donald Gene Middleton
June 11th, 1938 - June 3rd, 2021
Donald Gene Middleton, 82, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021. A proud life-long Lexingtonian, he was born on June 11, 1938. “Go Big Blue! “ were words that he lived by every basketball and football season. He had a long career working in physical therapy for the Senior Citizen’s Center and was beloved by so many for his gentle, caring ways and love of laughter. He was a member of Lafayette Church of the Nazarene. He was a devoted caregiver for his mother until the end of her life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Branham and Mary Bell Carter Middleton and Sherman Kidwell; and his infant sister, Anna Lee Middleton. Mr. Middleton is survived by his brother, Charles E. (Gloria) Middleton, Nicholasville, his niece Deirdre Enzor, Tampa, and a nephew, Jeff Middleton, Lexington. Visitation will be Friday, June 11,2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:30 PM in Hillcrest Memorial Park on Versailles Road. Serving as casketbearers will be Tony Martin, Mike Robinson, Spencer Turner, Thayer Burgess, Danny Middleton, and Lynn Arnett. Immediately following the graveside service, the family invites everyone who would like to attend back to Don’s house for a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lafayette Church of the Nazarene.
