Donald Mondani
November 5th, 1941 - September 22nd, 2015
Donald August Mondani of Plymouth, CA passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the age of 73. He was born in Sacramento, CA on November 5, 1941 to the late Nellie (Du Frene) and Peter Joseph Mondani. He was the husband of Martha "Marti" (Shaley) Mondani. Raised in Amador County, Don was close with his twin brother, Doug, and his older sister, Geraldine. Don met his future wife locally, when she dazzled him with a new Camaro. They dated for one year, and Marti was just nineteen when they were married in Reno, NV on February 8, 1969. Don followed the old family tradition of hard-working cowboys, and was a fourth generation cattle rancher. He was a man who wore many hats; he drove tractors and hauled logs, cattle, and heavy equipment. Donald is survived by his wife, Marti; son, Daniel (Amanda) Mondani, of Sutter Creek, CA; two daughters, Diane (Allen) Noe, of Roseville, CA, and Denise (Gary) Hawkins, of Sutter Creek, CA; sister, Geraldine (Enrico) Cassinelli, of Tahoe City, CA; brother, Douglas (Teresa) Mondani, of Ione, CA; and grandchildren, McKayla, Alyssa, and Allison. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson, CA at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 5, 2015. Interment will follow at the Garden of Tranquility in Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson, CA. Contributions may be made to STARS at P.O. Box 208, Jackson, CA 95642, or to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties at P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642.
