Donald D. Olmstead, known to many as "Pops”, received his wings and went to be with Jesus on March 25, 2019. Don was born on July 30, 1944 in Flint Michigan. Don proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He then served from 1970 to 1972 in the Reserve.  After his discharge, he went back to Flint Michigan to work at General Motors where he retired after 31 years.   Don’s hobbies included spending time with his cat Mr., running his train set, and watching his favorite movies. He enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola paraphernalia and loved astronomy. His favorite times were spent sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and cool breezes. Don "Pops” is survived by his children: Penny Russell, Timmy, and Tommy Olmstead. His sister Cathy Olmstead, brother Kenny and his wife Mike Olmstead.  His nieces, Dawn and Debbie Olmstead, Great nieces Marie, Michelle, and Monica Olmstead, and all of his many friends who he blessed along the way. He will be reuniting with his Mother Marjorie (Bourne) Olmstead, his Father Merle Olmstead and his Son Billie Olmstead in Heaven. The family will be greeting friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019, at Viegut Funeral Home at 1616 North Lincoln Ave, Loveland Colorado 80538. Military Honors will begin at 2:30pm.
