Donald Wayne Prescott

January 21st, 1943 - June 17th, 2018

Don was born in Los Angeles, California, on January 21, 1943 to Regina and Lowell Prescott, the second of four children. He left us on June 17, 2018 in Beaverton, Oregon. He is survived by his wife Mary, children, Carrie James (Julie), Jeff (Sarah), Tom (Mariah) and step children Emily Braman and Brad Schatzel(Lauren), his sister Judy Seldow (Rich), and grandchildren Zach, Conner, Leah, Eden, Ben, Des, and Geneveive.Don was predeceased by his brothers Larry and Wendall and his first wife Helen. Don graduated from Lakeview High School in 1960 and shortly after went to work for General Telephone in Long Beach, California. In the late 1970’s he and his family moved to the northwest where Don continued his career with GTE in Camas, Washington before moving to Beaverton, Oregon. Besides his family and dog Maggie a big part of Don’s life was enjoying the outdoors by fishing and hunting. If you were to ask him about it there was always a big hunting or fishing story that he didn’t mind sharing over and over again! After his first heart surgery in 2001 he got his yellow lab, Maggie as a walking partner. They became inseparable and he considered her his best friend. Unfortunately she passed away in 2016 and life was never the same in the Prescott household. During his last two years of life he looked forward to hunting antelope in Wyoming in October 2017. Even though he got his animal the trip almost did him in and life after that was a series of hospital stays, rehab and finally assisted living. Don never gave up hope that he was going to get better, come home and life would be like it used to be. As we all know this didn’t happen and we join Mary in the hope that Don and his dog Maggie are inseparable once again. A memorial service for Don is scheduled for Saturday July 28, 2018 at 2:00 Southminster Presbyterian Church, 12250 SW Denney Road, Beaverton, Oregon 97008.
