Donald W. Revers

Col (Ret.) Donald W. Revers, 83, passed away Sunday, Dec 23, 2012 at his home. Born in 1929 to Walter and Anna Revers in Ironwood MI. He had one sister, Florance Erickson, Ironwood, MI. He married Mary Frances Fagan May 5, 1955 in Victoria, TX. He and Mary had four children; Donald Mark Revers, Tina Revers, Cindy Keene all of Melbourne, FL and Julie Folkening of Iowa Park, TX. He was proud of his 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He entered the US Air Force 27 Dec 1950 as an Airman Basic and Retired as a Colonel in 1981. During his Air Force Career he flew over 100 combat missions in Vietnam in his beloved F-105 Thunderchief. He earned five Distinguished Flying Crosses and a Silver Star. He piloted the EC-135N aircraft used to track the launch and recovery of Apollo and Skylab missions, to include the Apollo XI mission for the first lunar landing. There will be a funeral mass at St. John, the Evangelist Catholic Church, Viera, FL on Thursday Dec 27, 2012. The mass will take place at 10:00. A burial will take place in Victoria, TX at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
