Donald R. Schoen - Payette 1931-2012 Donald R. Schoen, 80, of Payette, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, following a brief battle with cancer, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 502 N 11th St., Payette, ID followed by a brief graveside service at Riverside Cemetery 1969 River Rd. Payette with Reverend Ralph Lawrence officiating. Condolences may be made online at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Don was born on September 21, 1931 in Cawker City, Kansas to Leo and Mildred Schoen. The family moved to Idaho in 1936. Upon graduating from Payette High School, Don attended Boise Junior College then joined the Air force in 1950, serving until 1954. He attended Kinman Business School in Spokane, and then began work at the company that would become American Fine Foods. Don married Carol Harwood on June 6, 1957, and they were blessed with three sons. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Alice Schoen and sister-in-law Barbara Schoen. He is survived by his wife Carol Schoen, sons Norman, Bryan (Karen) and Alan (Tammy), grandchildren Gregg, Connor and Brad and brother Ron Schoen and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist church or to your favorite charity in Don's name c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, PO Box 730, Payette, Idaho 83661. Service Details.
