Donald Eugene Sears
November 12th, 1934 - January 29th, 2024
Donald Eugene Sears, age 89, passed away in the comfort of his own home in Colorado Springs, Colorado on January 29, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Danville, Illinois on November 12, 1934 to Cleatis Sears and Helen Johnson Sears. He bravely and proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force where he earned the rank of Master Sergeant before his retirement in 1974. In later years he worked as a traffic light technician for the city of Colorado Springs. Don was associated with the Scottish Terrier Club of America, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and DAV. Preceded in death are Don's parents Cleatis Glesner Sears and Helen Marion Sears, Deana Sears Frizell and Amanda Leners Myhre. Those left behind to honor Don's memory are loving wife Sharon Sears, daughters Sheryl Bridges and Susan Feller. sons Zane Peters and Michael Sears, devoted grandchildren Ashlee Lukas, Heather Frizell, Dave Kiser, Tanya Kiser and Charles Kiser, 8 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Don was a loving husband to his wife Sharon of 52 years; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be known for his gentle soul who loved dogs, his country and was an avid Bronco's fan. Services will be held for Donald on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 N. Logan Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. Viewing will begin at 10:00AM, Funeral Mass will take place immediately following at 10:30AM with a reception following the mass. Don will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery later that day at 2:00PM with full Air Force honors.
