January 2nd, 1934 - December 4th, 2013
Donald W. Shaner, 79, of Ontario passed away from natural causes, Wednesday, December 4, 2013. There will be a Remembrance of his life from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Parma Senior Center, 410 N. 8th St, Parma, ID, 83660. Friends and family members are encouraged to attend the potluck dinner, and all are welcome to share their memories of Don. Born to Howard and Mamie Shaner in Ainsworth, Nebraska, he was the 7th of 9 children. Don was raised in Parma, Idaho and graduated from Parma High School. He served in the Army and the Army reserve where he received an honorable discharge for service to his Country. Don married Vera Ann Everett in 1958, and resided in Ontario, where Don owned and operated a Heating and Air Conditioning Business for 25 years before he retired. Don loved hunting, camping, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, playing darts and pool with his friends, and most of all playing pinochle with his family. Surviving Don: his wife of 55 years, Vera, and children: Jeanne Gordon, Fruitland, Idaho, Debbie Jo Wilson (Ken), Nyssa, Oregon, and Karl Shaner (Christine), Ontario, Oregon. He had 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Dale Shaner, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. The family would like to thank the Veterans Doctors, Nurses, and Lincare for their help. Service Information
