Funeral services for Donald Eugene Shannon, 72, of Blythewood, will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, September 12, 2016 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC. Pastor Luther Harmon will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington. Mr. Shannon passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late James Edward and Alice Watts Shannon. He was a loving son of God, whose faith was very important to him. He attended Earlewood Baptist Church. He also enjoyed bluegrass gospel music, and traveling to the Blueridge mountains. Surviving are his sister, Barbara Crim of Blythewood; 2 nieces and 1 nephew, and a large and loving extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SCOA, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.
