My Life Story Donna Craig Amos, 89, died peacefully Thursday, February 1, 2018. Donna was born October 5, 1928 in Rupert, Idaho to Florence (Griffith) and Fred Craig. She spent her early years in Rupert and Twin Falls, Idaho moving with her parents, and two brothers, Robert and Raymond to Gooding, Idaho in 1932. She graduated from Gooding High School in 1946. Her college plans were altered when she met and fell in love with her future husband, George Amos, in the fall of 1946. They married the following June and celebrated 61 years of marriage just prior to his passing in 2008. After they married they lived in Pocatello, Idaho while George attended college. During their marriage, they resided in Washington, Texas, Idaho, and Arizona. Donna worked as a bookkeeper, retiring from Wolf's Auto Supply 1989. While raising five children, she was a school volunteer, 4-H leader, den mother for Cub Scouts and Campfire Girls. She was also a 70 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron in 1979. Donna was an avid sports fan and loved cheering for the Mariners, UW Huskies, BSU Broncos, and the Seahawks. Through the years, she enjoyed boating, cruising in her motor home, and traveling to Arizona in the winter to enjoy the sunshine. She loved walking on the beach at their home in Ocean Park, Washington. Donna loved card games, and played Bingo like a pro. She was a voracious reader, and enjoyed a good romance novel, but also enjoyed mystery or suspense novels. GiGi's beach (in Ocean Park) was the summer retreat for her children, grandchildren, and great grands, where they were steps from the Pacific Ocean. She loved watching and joining them roasting marshmallows, playing cards and games, walking the beach in search of sand dollars, wading in the tide pools, building sandcastles, flying kites and walking down the beach to have ice cream at the local coffee shop. Oh, what a joy those visits gave her. Donna was a loved and cherished Mom to her children and their spouses; Terry Amos, Nancy and Charlie Rountree, Mariann and Dave Webber, Geofrey and Rochelle Amos, Rebecca and Scott Stuart, and step-son, Gary Babbitt. She was Grandma or Grammy to Tyler (Beth) Rountree, Sarah (Tidmore) Carver, Alex (Stacy) Rountree, Brady (Brittany) Amos, Elizabeth (Theo) Mikaele, Tanner Webber, Drew Amos, Austin Amos, and Gabriella Stuart. She was lovingly called GiGi by Madeline and Thomas Rountree, Alyssa, Jaron, and Caleb Tidmore, Carson, Burke and Tylee Rountree, Kyra and Kaiden Amos, and Anastacia, Olivia, and Jackson Mikaele. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Jean Amos, and brother-in-law James Amos as well as many nieces and nephews. Her husband George, her parents and two brothers preceded her in death. A celebration of life will be held this summer 2018. Donna will be inurned at the Idaho Veteran's Cemetery with George. We thank Treasure Valley Hospice (Teri, Rob, Tess, Michelle and Tami) for their loving gentle care of Mom. The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity. *See Service information page*

We Entrusted Donna C. Amos's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
