Donna Rey Castoe

Donna Rey "Nana" Young Castoe, 67, of Jackson, CA, passed away of a sudden illness on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Roseville. Donna was born on September 18, 1947 in Stockton, CA to Jane and Dave Young. She grew up in Stockton with 8 siblings. She married her high school sweetheart, John Castoe, in Stockton, on September 11, 1965. Their near-50-year marriage included raising 4 children, moving from Stockton to Pine Grove in 1976 to own and operate Bigfoot Market, bowling, softball, and being very involved with their family and friends. Donna was known for being feisty, crafty, active, funny, and tough! And her dedication to her family was especially strong. She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Shellee & Rene Quintal; sons, Jeff & Karen Castoe, Davey & Sonya Castoe, and Levi & Nikki Castoe; 9 grandchildren, Clayton and Kilie Daneri, Shelby, Janey, & Seth Castoe, Chet Castoe, Paige Simes, and Ashlyn and Tessa Castoe; 1 great grandson, Jace Daneri; 7 siblings, David "Little Guy" & Vivian Young, Birdie & Doug Bigby, Jolene & Jimmy Upchurch, Debbie Kern, Eddie Young, Terry and John Bigby, and Belinda Navarez; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Louise Castoe; sisters-in-law, Margaret & George Sterni, Becky & Larry Drury; and her beloved German Shepard, Sadie, who brought Donna so much joy and companionship. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bill Young; and parents, Dave and Jane Young. There will be a Celebration of Life at 10 am on Wednesday, July 1st at Church of Nazarene in Sutter Creek, CA.
