Donna S. Douglas Abbott Compher

WARNER ROBINS, GA-Donna Sue Abbott Compher, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 8, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the First Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held Saturday from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Immediately following the service she will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Reverend Jeremy Pass will officiate. Donna was born on January 14, 1933 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Ira and Bessie Douglas. Most people knew her as a dedicated volunteer at the Houston Medical Center where she devoted her time and energy. Regardless, of whether she was serving in the gift shop or answering the phone at reception, she was known for her dedicated hard work. She was always greeting both members and visitors alike at the front doors of the First Church of the Nazarene, the church she loved and adored. It was her faith in Jesus Christ that propelled her to serve so diligently. Most of her friends and family knew her to be feisty and full of life. Her greatest joy, however, was her family whom she dearly loved, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her 1st husband of 33 years, Homer C. Abbott, who passed away in 1987 and her 2nd husband of 20 years Bernard Compher who passed away in 2018. Her memory will forever be cherished by her children, Becky Warren (Jerry), Kathleen; Debby Anderson (Jeff), Kathleen; David Abbott (Karen), Little Rock Arkansas;8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
