Donna Lorene Eaton

April 7th, 1954 - August 23rd, 2024

The Lord is my Shepherd...

Donna Lorene Eaton, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Parker, Colorado, near her hometown of Denver.  Born to Oscar and Evelyn Rappenecker on April 7, 1954, Donna’s life was a tapestry of love, devotion, and service to her family, friends, and community.

Donna’s journey began in Denver, where she grew up with her siblings, Nancy and twin brother Donald.  Her childhood was filled with joy which laid the foundation for her nurturing spirit.

Not long before graduating from South High School in 1972, her heart found its counterpart in Tony Eaton. They tied the knot in front of friends and family on August 17, 1974 and were proud to see their 50thanniversary together just recently.  Together, they raised two remarkable children: Sean and Jason, who were Donna’s pride and joy.

Donna loved raising her boys and was the glue for her family.  She raised the boys at the church she went to most of her life, Redeemer Lutheran Church, and provided a strong foundation for their lives.  She was always devoted to the Church, volunteering her time and support for many functions and families, and continued even after Redeemer closed and she started going to Christ Lutheran Church.

After the boys were more settled, she grew her career at Proctor and Gamble, touching the lives of those she worked with and making many lifelong friends.

Upon retirement she continued spreading her love with the family by always being there for the kids, grandkids and anyone else in the family that needed her.  It was a rare thing to find a person Donna could not bring out the light in, and we are all better for it.

Her children and grandchildren will forever cherish Donna’s stories and comforting words.  Her commitment to doing what was right, even if it was hard, served as a role model for our family and she always put others before herself.

Predeceased by her parents, Donna’s memory is honored by her devoted husband Tony; her children Sean and Jason and their wives’ Heather and Sunshine; and her grandchildren Marisa, with her husband Austin, Adam, Logan, and Luke.

A celebration of life for Donna will be held September 7, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 11009 Ledges Rd, Parker, CO 80134.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to Denver Hospice (https://thedenverhospice.org/donation/) or the UC Health Cancer Center Patient Support Fund (https://www.uchospitalfoundation.org/donate/) both who provided great care to Donna during all of this.

Donna Lorene Eaton’s life was a melody of love and kindness – a tune that will resonate in the hearts of those she touched forever.

My beloved cousin Donna was one of the people who has loved me and so many others into being. From the time she was born I’ve known her to be the calmest, most rational, most generously compassionate human I’ve ever known. I relish our childhood in Denver together, all the weekends and holidays at our Asp grandparents'. I relish our college days and early adulthood, sharing childbirth and La Leche League classes and living close enough to share early motherhood and our toddlers. Even in the years we lived far apart, I relish her beautiful quiet loving presence at every family gathering, every opportunity to meet up (even Tennessee!), trips we took together (especially California!) and who can forget Genoa barn dances and the precious history of our grandparents and mothers. In recent years I have relished our monthly phone conversations with all our laughs and tears, memories and problem solving. And I’ll never forget the sweet, quiet, practical help and support she has given me during the failing years of my mom, her “Aunt Billie.” I am a front seat witness to her loving dedication to family—past, present and future. She was the one who launched me into more Asp family history, cared for our family plots every year, stood by her parents and siblings through both joyful and challenging times and maintained relationships with relatives far and wide. The devotion of her husband, sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren are a testament to the incredible role she has played in making them the exceptional family she has nurtured into being. Her support and encouragement for her grandchildren has always been with an eye toward continuing to provide her loving support into their futures. Although no longer physically present, her calm, loving presence she shared with us will continue to inspire and be felt by me and all the people she loved. Thank you, dear Donna.

Donna will forever be remembered by all of us who knew and loved her. Donna always had a smile on her face and words of love to share. So many memories at church, at Redeemer, bible studies together and getting together for our lunches, and the phone calls to stay in touch until we would see each other again and give hugs and share our love. Devotions we shared daily will remain in my heart forever. Our Lord Jesus Christ has our wonderful friend in his precious arms now. Until we're all together again.🙏Prayers of Comfort, Love and God's Peace to all her family, now and the days, months and year's ahead forever and always.

I have known Donna Rappenecker Eaton since we started kindergarten at Godsman Elementary School, then off to Rishel Jr High and South High we all went. We were all blessed with an amazing friendship that lasted all these years. In April we were so fortunate to be able to celebrate Donald and Donna’s “70” Birthday which meant we were all “70” and celebrated together. Donna was sweet, kind and the caring person in our group. She was smart (straight A’s all thru school) and the quiet force. She met Tony at South High which added another member to our group. We didn’t get together often thru the years but when we did it was just like high school again. So much love and laughter. You will be missed dear friend❤️ Matt and Cheryl Verwys

Donna was the best neighbor and friend anyone could ask for! She and Tony have always been there to help me when I needed it. Donna would also show up at my door with goodies during holidays. She was always willing to give me a ride and invite me to fun events. I'll never forget the fun time I had with Tony and Donna at Red Rocks. I've known some wonderful people in my lifetime, but no one with a kinder and sweeter spirit than Donna's. She was such a beautiful example of love and grace that all of us who knew her would be wise to follow each day. I'll never forget her and will miss her always.

I remember meeting Donna for the first time and it was like I was seeing my mother again. She was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. I could feel the love she had for her family and the honest caring for everyone she met. She was a rare woman and I am so glad I was able to meet her and get to know her. I cherish the times I was able to be around her and will cherish those memories.
