Donna Louise Brackman Fisher was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She passed away very peacefully on May 14, 2024, from natural causes, at the age of 83 in Mountain Home, Idaho.
Born March 19, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Frederick John Brackman and Ruby Arlene (Berry) Brackman, Donna had a sister Myrna Joyce (Riddleberger).
She was raised in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. She met the love of her life Howard Leon Fisher in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They were married on February 14, 1960. (Howard refused to be married on the 13th because it would end up being a Friday at some point & was also the same date as her parents Frederick & Ruby’s anniversary) They had 2 daughters Brenda Kay, and Christy Jo. They moved to Phoenix Arizona in July of 1963 and later Donna moved to Mountain Home Idaho in 2015 to be with her children & grandchildren.
Most of her life she was a stay-at-home mother. She worked in plastic fabrication factories and in sales both from home & outside the home. Her & her husband loved to dance to country & western and were great partners in dancing. She stayed very busy with crafts, scouts, bowling, camping, and hunting. She loved to read especially inspirational love stories, she was always “repairing/fixing” anything she could take apart, loved to make crafts out of common objects, not kits, and she really loved thrift stores & yard sales. She was a very devout Christian, was on the board at her church in Phoenix, and then attended Christian & Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Idaho.
Here's a few words from her first granddaughter:
“I have a different perspective on end of life than probably many others. It can be a beautiful time and memory. That being said, I know Mom Mom is at peace at last. She lived way past/longer than the love of her life (which I could never imagine) and was one of the most stubborn people I've ever met. But ........I am the one who "named her" Mom Mom so maybe I am also.
Death is often about those of us left behind. But I'm here to say, she lived every moment 100% (spicy, sassy, funny, stubborn) and now she finally gets to live eternally with her one true love. God bless Mom Mom (& Grandpa). May we all be so lucky to have that kind of love and life.”
She is survived by Brenda Bamber (William), Christy Cash, Grandchildren: Tanya Lawson (Craig) of Nampa, Idaho, Kevin (Deana) Bamber of Prescott, Wisconsin, Ryan (Patti) Cash of Mountain Home, Idaho, Rachel McDaniels (Scott) of Green River, Wyoming, and Bryan (Kim) Bamber of Mountain Home, Idaho. Great Grandchildren: Abbey, Ethan, Sadie, Saphira, Kaitlynn, Madison & Lucas. Many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Leon Fisher (1995), sister Myrna Joyce (1995) Mother Ruby (1998) and Father Frederick (1999) and Uncle Ralph Berry (1984)
Graveside service to be held May 28th, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers please send donation to Christian & Baptist Church of Mountain Home 265 N. 4th East Mtn. Home, ID 83647

We Entrusted Donna Fisher's Care To
Rost Funeral Home
As the only funeral home in Elmore County, the staff at Rost Funeral Home work hard to be active members of the Mountain Home community and to be there to take care of families in every way possible when the need arises. Our funeral home opened in 2005 when Jerry and Janette Rost purchased the business. We’ve continued to grow along with Mountain Home. Jerry’s career began more than fifty years ago in Boise, and along the way, he acquired an 1897 horse-drawn funeral carriage, which we proudly display in our facility....
