Donna L. Frederick

My beloved mother Donna Lou Frederick (Kenyon) went home to be with her heavenly father on October 26,2023 at the Wells House in Johnstown NY. Born on January 31, 1936, in Gloversville NY to Clyde and Bertha Kenyon (Meirhoffer), she was predeceased by her husband Alan Frederick, sisters Lucille Richardson, Doris Pecorino, Carolyn Bayes, Evelyn Brooks, and brothers Calvin Kenyon, George Kenyon, Clyde Kenyon, Raymond Kenyon, and Robert Kenyon. She is survived by one daughter Melissa M. Frederick Bedell (Leland) and one sister, Jackie Sena. Before becoming the best stay at home mom ever, Donna was a housekeeper and nanny for a local family for many years. She had a great love for animals and the outdoors, especially family camping trips to Lake Placid and the high peaks. She loved to cook everything from scratch and had a huge recipe collection. She taught me how to make great German potato pancakes. Before she was married, she was an avid bowler and won many trophies. She instilled in me a great love of reading, and many a fine hour was spent with our noses in books. Her pure kindness inspired in me a desire to help people and love everyone no matter what. Her love of God propelled me to be the person that I am today, and I hope to make her proud. A memorial service will be held on Friday November 10, 2023, at 1 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, One West Montgomery Street, Johnstown NY 12095, with the Reverend William Hodgetts officiating. Please wear purple in her honor. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the domestic violence shelter, or the code blue shelter, or just doing something really kind for someone else.
