Donna Renee Freed (Roney) was born on February 14th, 1967, and she passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2024, surrounded by her family at Medical Center of the Rockies. She was 57 years old.

Donna was born to Don and Arlene Roney. She was the middle child, born between older sister, Sylvie, and younger sister Theresa.

Donna was born in Decorah, Iowa, and at the age of six, her family relocated to Colorado. Her family was proud of her accomplishments from a young age. She thrived in her athletics, playing basketball and volleyball at Thompson Valley High School. During high school, she met the one and only Phil Freed, as he lived across the street and “talked shop” with her dad. After countless walks and talks with Phil, they knew they were meant for each other. He proposed, and with her dad’s blessing, they married after she graduated college on September 6th,1986.

Phil and Donna welcomed three children into the world; Brittney, Brailey, and Brandon. Donna never missed on the opportunity to be there with, and for, her kids as they grew. She thrived on being their constant caregiver through school and athletics. Not only was she close with her kids, but everyone who came to know Donna, instantly fell in love with her compassion, kindhearted spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone surrounding her. Her proudest position was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Donna rarely missed any sporting event, especially when it came to her children. She loved keeping the score books for softball and baseball, and she told an umpire or two that they were wrong.

Donna was also a staple in her workplace. She loved solving a problem, helping a colleague, and always showed up with a good attitude and enthusiastic nature to everything she did.

She dedicated her life to making it a brighter place for the people around her. She will be missed; her contagious smile, great sense of humor, lifetime of knowledge and patience, and desire to help others find peace.

Donna is preceded in death by Robert Freed, Phil’s Father. She is survived by her husband Philip Freed, children, Brittney Wadsworth, Brailey Freed, and Brandon Freed (Katie), her parents Don and Arlene Roney, sisters, Sylvie Schinke (Mike) and Theresa Sears (Bryan), her grandchildren; Charlotte and Declan, and so many others that are named in our hearts.

Rest easy, Donna Renee. Your time with the Lord has begun, and you are at peace.

Donna’s service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church: 815 East 16th St, Loveland, Colorado 80538 on May 24th, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. Her service will also be live-streamed on Zion’s website under drop link (Sunday morning worship) for those who cannot attend. Fellowship following the service.
